I pulled some horseradish roots yesterday after planting them for the first time this past spring. Not really processing them, just to see what they were like.
So I washed the roots, scraped off the outer layer, and took a nice bite. Wow! Hot!
But then I did what I should of known better to do....I wiped my forehead and cheek with my hands.
Felt that heat for a couple hours.

lol we've been eating green chili since I can remember and I have some "not so good" restroom memories after helping my mom peel the chili's when I was just a kid

My "good judgement" came from rubbing my eyes after chopping habaneros. Even after I had scrubbed my hands with that gritty hand cleaner and "Dawn" soap, my eyes burned for 2 hours. Gloves are now my friends.

I've always said "If in doubt, slap a glove on it"... I know it has saved me from painful rashes, irritation, and some embarrassing moments.
