I am getting ready to begin keeping hives and have been looking at suppliers but I don't know what I'm looking for. Can anyone identify and define some of the basic equipment used in bee keeping?

also, most, if not all, Beekeeping suppliers list beginners/startup kits. Even if you don't buy the kit they list what is included.

Nate:

I called Brushy Mountain yesterday, spoke to Teresa, and they were more than happy to answer all my questions without all the pushy sales. They do offer starter kits that are complete and more than willing to help you through the process. Sign up for thier newsletter and give them a shout.

I give them an 'A+++'. Their website is: http://www.brushymountainbeefarm.com/

I agree with your assessment of Brushy Mountain, but I would Give Walter T. Kelley one more + on top of those.
