We going to liven this place up. So to start with I thought it would be a good iddee'a if when you log in and take a look Put a quick post here letting users know you was here this way the others can see who all is stopping in and the amount of traffic comming and going. I would like to see things pick up here. I would post some on beekeeping but its early in our year and not much going on except some feeding.

thanks ladyleo191 for tippy toeing around:), I will pass on the coffee since I don't drink it, but if you have some sweet tea thats a different story. Need to go check on the new bull, mend some fence, check on the weak hive, add another super to the strong hive, haul in some round bales from the field, clean out the stock trailer, feed and water the chickens, dog and cats, and maybe pull a few weeds out of the garden.

I guess I better get to moving.

oh and now the wife and kids want to take me out to eat later for fathers day.

Bjorn, you should have seen the light show over Lake Erie last night. Lightning from cloud to cloud, about one bolt every second, and it went on for nearly an hour. The thought of that much energy is... daunting.

We had a couple big water spouts earlier in the week. Impressive. I could see them clearly and my house is 1.5 miles from the shore. I'd post a photo, but I had to use the old film camera with the big lens, and it may be years before I finish that roll.

Hi, I'm on line for about the next hour and then the Librarian will kick me out so she can go have lunch.

I checked two yards this morning. Some of them needed supers, though none were plugged out. So far the crop is on the poor side, but goldenrod is just starting to make nectar here. I could smell it in the air in the first yard. So there is still potential for a decent crop of honey. If I can get 60 lbs per colony average I won't have to buy any honey to keep my customers happy.

Howdee, y'all. I'm on for about an hour. Had fun yesterday passing a kidney stone. After the visit to the ER I was pretty nauseus for the rest of the day and still feel residually so. I think it was from the morphine, which I didn't have w/ the last one. So, I guess I'll opt for the pain over the nausea.

Just thought you'd love to know. :)

Iddee

oxycodone for pain......

doxycycline hyclate for nausea...

I keep them both right here on my computer desk, for use about once a month.
I don't even bother with going to the doc with them anymore.
Have a whole collection of the stones.

I now have the oxycodone, where do you get the doxycyline? Perscription?
I thought the nausea was from the morphine. No?

Thanks for the advice.

Where ever it is from, it's always there. I thought it was just from the extreme pain. The doc gave me the doxy the same time as the oxy. I think it is prescription, tho.

all this talk of morphine and oxycodin sure make me want to break out into verse and rhyme and sing an old john prine song..

sam stone came home to his wife and family
after serving in the conflict overseas
and the time that he'd served
had shattered all his nerves
and left a little shrapnel in his knee

but the morphine eased the pain
as the grass grew round his brain
and gave him all the confidence he lacked
with a puple heart and a monkey on his back

Just got to love them stones, get them several times a year, seems like mainly in the spring and summer. I sweat really really heavily and kind of think in those times of the year (when the weather starts to heat up) I get slightly dehydrated and that is a factor. Most of the time if you see me I will have a large styrofoam cup drinking ice water all day long.

Most of the time it is like peeing sand with some lumps thrown in for fun.

Good luck with them and hope you get to feeling better.

Another day and close to $425.00 spent, more in the wings. The gear pump that emptys the extractor gave up Sunday evening, 3 hours to pump 60 pounds of honey. Ordered a new pump Monday morning that arrived yesterday afternoon. Not a direct bolt in as the old Woodman has 1 1/2" inlets and out lets and the new pump is 1". The new pump also reguires A pillow block and coupler set up rather than a straight pully set up.

Have about 80 pounds setting in the extractor and 50 shallows and mediums supers to extract yet. Cool enough here I may have to fire up the honey house heater too.

So far it appears as production is down by about half of last year. More colonies this year but the way the rains came gave many days of dryness then floods for a couple of days.

Change it from glacier to subsilver2. It is in descending order. Charles may be able to fix glacier, but I don't use it and know nothing about it. I use subsilver only.

Good morning!
Today husband and I are going to make the final decision on where our two hives are going to be placed. We've been mulling over the limited choices in our small backyard for a while now. We will only have two hives since our property is just 1/3 acre with house and front lawn taking up half of that.
There's a possibility that we might be given an active hive from a friend that we'd be moving here in a couple of weeks, so we need to get the layout decided on.

Good morning!

I 'almost' got my first bees moved over here yesterday, but the BK bowed out at the last minute, was afraid of possible rain. Now he's going on a trip and I'll have to wait 2 more weeks for us to move the established hive that was gifted to me. The property the hive is on is on the market to be sold, and the owner is giving their hive to me. I have a bk more than willing to help move it to my place where I have an area set up now.
These will be my very first bees and I'm terribly excited! It's terrible to have to wait another two weeks now, when we were so close to getting it done yesterday!
