Making A Vac

Hey Iddee,

I am in the process of building your style vac. The shop vac I have is this one from Lowes

The intake is a 1 ¼” hose. Will this create enough suction with a 2” hose coming out the other end? I have the 2” reduced to a 1” at the end to vac up the bees with.

My guess is yes, but it is only a guess. The biggest problem I have had was getting the vac reduced enough, not the other way around. You could always test it at the entrance to your hive, then release them.

Thanks Iddee. I will give it a try and see what happens. I was going to test it on some packing peanuts.
