Here's why bathtubs are so dangerous...
As long as I'm all gimpy and unable to do much, I thought I'd just share some pics of my leg that I tore up after slipping in the shower...
This was taken a few hours after my fall, and this is the area I thought was broken, but turned out not to be.

This was taken about a day later... I didn't actually hurt my foot, all the swelling and bruising there is blood from my leg that pooled in my foot due to gravity pulling it down.

This was taken tonight, which is nearly a week later.

Also taken tonight.

So be careful even around the house, and if you don't have a no-slip bath mat yet, I would really recommend getting one.If you can read this, you've got better eyesight than I do.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that, and you just had that spider bite too. That makes for one bad month. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Here's why bathtubs are so dangerous...
I definitely have a shower pad, AND hold to the shower door top rail when entering and exiting. A good friend of mine lost an eye on the faucet when he fell in the tub. I have thought about him each time I get in the tub.
PS. Hope you are up and around soon.“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”

To play it safe, I just avoid bathing in general.
ps- I don't mean to make light of your injury; it looks plenty painful. Take care, and get better soon.

And make sure the mat is stuck down! We have one of those old claw-foot tubs, with a mat. However, if you do not firmly stick the suction cups down after cleaning the tub, the whole mat slides when you step in.
Do take care of those bruises, Ben. That's a good reminder for us all.
