Unhappy Working on a Top Bar Hive...

My plans are from here and i will be putting the entrance on the side not the front with a peice of wood underneith for a landing board. Shuold i use holes or a rectangle opening? Any other tips or advice for using a top bar are welcomed and appreciated.

    Hi again,

You might enjoy Sam Comfort's bee site, lots of good advice about bees and about top bar hives:
    http://anarchyapiaries.org/

And here are his own measurements for his top bar hives:
    http://anarchyapiaries.org/hivetools/node/17177
    he builds them very cheaply.
It's 'tough love' for the bees here at Wayward Girl Apiary.
