NCSBA Beginners Short Course, Down East NC

Post Number:#1  Postby Tia » Sun Feb 07, 2010 2:26 pm

In an attempt to reach those beekeepers in "the original Down East" who don't like driving over the North River Bridge and "all the way to Morehead City" for our meetings, if interest permits, we will hold a Beginner's Beekeeping Course at the Cottage Book Nook of the Down East Library in Smyrna commencing Wednesday, March 3 and continuing every Wednesday for 6 weeks. The class will start at 6 pm and end at 9 pm or earlier, depending upon questions and discussion, and will follow the NC State Beekeepers syllabus for the Certified Beekeeping exam. If, at the end of the 6th week, you would like to take the written exam to become a state certified beekeeper, the exam will be held in the final hour of the final class. The practical exam (actual manipulation of a beehive) will take place as soon thereafter as weather permits. If enough people register by February 26, you will receive a detailed agenda of the subjects that will be covered and the name of the speaker on each subject. The course is FREE. If you are interested, please contact Tia Douglass at 252-729-5491 or email tdouglass@ec.rr.com
