I was not online as much this summer, I typically am too busy to be on much in the spring but I make up for it in the summer.
3 years ago my big old rottie mix got a mast cell tumor, I discovered when he was chewing his foot and I asked my vet to needle biopsy the foot. she didn't biopsy the foot but she did 3 lumps, and one was mast cell. since his foot was itching due to the histamine it throws off, it had metastasized. I had surgery done on him 3 days later, he looked like dying afterward. So I went online and asked around a couple of dog health forums and they sent me to look at a turmeric group on Facebook, which I did. And I learned to cook turmeric paste and give antihistamines and my old dog lived almost 3 more years. But he died first week of August. fighting cancer is time consuming, and letting go of a dog I'd had for 8.5 years was pretty painful. But I gave him a good shot and he didn't just live, he lived well for those 3 years. He rode in my truck and went and saw grandkids and was the ambassador of rottie at the feed store, and he felt good up until this past spring. I switched meds around and did what I could but he was tired.
Anyway, I'm starting to get the yard and the business and the bees caught up, will see if I can be around a little more often. This is Bronx in his younger days. He was a beauty. (he was probably half Bernese Mountain dog, that's where the hair came from.)
