Can in package fell during shipment

We just got our first packages of bees. In one, the can of syrup dislodged and fell to the bottom. It crushed some of the bees, but not too many. Question is how to go about installing this one?

Should we do a passive release, placing the box in the hive? I don't think we can shake them out as the can is loose. It's in the high 40s/low 50s, and with the sugar syrup in the package, will the bees just stay in it?

Alternatively, could we try to cut the screen and pull the can out? I worry the bees will come flying out and go all over the place. Thanks for your ideas!

just take the can out and put aside, make sure queen is alive and well, then just take a few frames out of hive , and pour bees into the hive, tap the package container to dump out any bees left and put aside of hive if any bees are suborn to come out, then put the frames back in along with the queen in her box and close up the hive, the bees should release the queen in time and they will know what todo in the hive, feed sugar water 1 to 1 ratio immediately to start feeding the new bees, check in a few days if queen was released by bees in hive..and there installed..
