Was thinking in bedroom . And I have been thinking that since it would be more interesting to see them work from more or less the beginning with just a few frames instead of a head start with nucs will try a split from one of the hives I have already . Thanks roadkillbobb for your in put with this .

Sorry . It will be in the bedroom probly and sitting on a table or dresser . I want to use fewest frames possible , the observation hive plan to build will have room for 8 frames total . I am wanting to use fewest frames possible to be able to see them build up . And want to use foundationless frames to .

google observation hives, you can make or buy a hive that sits by a window and you can watch what goes on inside the hive by having a glass panel( plexi glass will cloud and you wont see much in time)they also make observation hives that have a tube to run out the bottom of a window and you seal around it so the bees stay out of the house and the hive sits indoors but is not a good idea as the bees in the winter wont know what todo as the hive will be too warm if it sits in a heated room..

Yes lol !!! I planned on having a clear tube running outside threw the wall with 2 valves to be able to close it at the wall to keep them from coming back in and a valve at the OB to keep them from flying out when it is needed to unhook it to take outside to do work on the inside of the OB . It will have a easy disconnect between the valves . On the being to warm during winter I will need to do more reading on that . Might have to move it to laundry room or garage ? I have been building a OB for a while and next step will be the plexi glass or glass install . Have heard good and bad on that part . I know the plexi glass is not as cheap as thought so I may when get time price glass . I am not sure what it's called but would want to use the glass that if it does get hit or falls won't shatter and just fall out , it spider webs .
