Has anyone used a flow hive yet I was thinking of getting for next season . Is it worth it or should I stay with what I have .

waste of money, all you have to see are the bad reviews and complaints online about it...but if you have a chunk of $$ to throw away, go for it......maybe if you have 12 months of the same weather for bees to be active you might have better luck..do some research from online, not just the people trying to sell it..

I’m a new beekeeper who bought two cedar flow hives. Yes...very expensive. That said, they are exceptionally high quality and look great. Bees seem to be thriving but As this is their first year I haven’t added the supers. I was told that they work well here in N Florida. I am really enjoying the bees and plan to add another 3 Nucs this spring. I will be using Traditional hives, probably 8 frame going forward.

I have bought a jig for routing dovetail joints. Will be making my own brood boxes and supers going forward. Must say the screened bottom board and base on the Flow Hives seems worth copying. Roof wouldn’t be hard to make either but will probably go with a plastic double roof for thermal as well as condensation control
