Beekeeper Beehive Apiary Honeycomb Pollinator

I was performing my 2nd hive inspection yesterday and found no eggs, lots of honey (or condensed sugar-water), lots of extra-thick comb sticking out from the frames and this. Is this a queen cell?

Hard to tell from the picture. To far away for these old eyes , my friend. You just recently got those bees, correct? I wouldn't think they would be thinking about swarming or making queen cells yet. They are still trying to organize their new home. Somebody with more smarts then me will come along,I am sure.

That appears to be a Supersedure queen cell. They usually make them when there is an ill queen, old queen or in the absence of a queen. So maybe they are wanting a new queen. Are there anymore cells like that? They usually make several, just in case.

Thanks Wil. Between finding no queen, no eggs, comb being built very thick on the surface of the center (under the feeder) frames and this potential queen cell I suspect the queen was rejected.
That is what I am thinking also.
Sometimes it is just easier to buy a NUC instead of dealing with a package of bees. In a NUC, the Queen is already established.
