Got a call from a condo owner downtown about lots of bees coming in the condo... went out and found that they were scout bees checking out a hole in their wall as a potential place to live. Calked it up for them but didn't know where the swarm actually was. So, somewhere downtown there's a swarm.

You should have left a bait hive near the hole to entice them to come in.

I probably would have if I had some drawn comb, but with nothing but uncoated plasticell foundation, they wouldn't even consider it.... plus I really kinda need all the individual hive bottoms that I have right now. I've got too many of them sitting out and about on various trap outs already and could end up not being able to get a swarm call later if I don't make sure I keep at least one spare single bottom on hand... and right now I only have 2, and tomorrow's cutout or possible trapout or whatever it ends up being will tie up one of those for at least a day or two if not for a few weeks.
