This is one of those books I like to read occasionally. You may want to download it and read when off line. Enjoy:smile: http://www.soilandhealth.org/03sov/0302hsted/030208miller/030408miller.PDF
I finally read this when I had my own 50th year with the bees. I do like to encourage new folks that are having problem getting started to read this simply to follow along with CC Miller's own initial bee venture and back to back failures. Even the great ones experience problem.. but they did manage to 'endeavor to persevere'.
I've read it...it came with 12 other out of print books from the early 1900's on a disk i bought...good read.
I down loaded this book, and some others that are in public domain (free) on my ereader. Or one could just download the nook app on your computer and then download the public domain books. I also got an ancient version of ABC-XYZ Of Bee Culture, there are a lot of old beekeeping books to choose from. I thought it interesting other than pests and diseases much remains the same or am I wrong? Anyway I found a lot of useful information.
exactly right Jack. I am not certain why that young fellow could never quite get his act together????
Thanks for the link. I found a few things of current interest to me in the first 160 I've read since seeing your link this afternoon.
Thanks for the link Marbees - I've been reading it the past couple of days. I like the historical stuff - and also marvel about how much is still the same, how much beekeepers knew back then that remains true today. There aren't too many things that are done the same 130 years later, but many of the principles of beekeeping are still intact.
