    Hi All,

What is the reasoning for adding capped brood to new Nucs/ new queens? Is it because the workers bees are only capable of being "nursery bees" for a limited time? If so, can I add capped brood after a new queen has been released in my hive post one week?

No one ever had ever satisfactorily explained to me why capped brood is important in new colony building.

its the best way to increase the population in the new hive fast, the new bees hatch fast and you are not putting a strain on the new hive by feeding larva.

It will also keep the bees in the hive and prevent absconding with new packages.
