i am a new beekeeper and started in the middle of May with a 8 frame medium brood box. I have added two additional 8 frame medium hive boxes to this hive. After going into the top box last week, i discovered that all frames in the top box are now full....I have an additional box that i can add, which will be a total of four 8-frame medium hive boxes...Should I add the fourth hive box now or wait?? How many will the bees need to make it through the winter?

If the top box is full??? what is in the bottom box? are you assuming the bottom box is full? have you looked directly?

Iddee should be about the best information (at your location) of the required provisions for a hive to make the winter.

24 medium frames would be plenty, but as Tecumseh suggested, you need to know the condition of the 2 bottom boxes.
