So this weekend will mark the three week mark since one of my hives swarmed about 4 times. I did a hive inspection at about the 10 day mark after the swarm occurred and I could find no signs of an egglaying queen yet, nor the queen herself. I've heard beeks say that you should give it three weeks, if there's no sign of an egg laying queen, before you think about purchasing a new queen. I'm just wanting to confirm this.

Also, if anyone from Washington State is reading, I'm in Enumclaw and I'm trying to find a queen breeder local to me. I've checked online and I've located several queen producers in washington, but a lot of them are pretty far away and I'd like to stick to SE King County if I can.

It does not work all the time as I found out. One of the groups took the queen and the other killed one. Tom
