Anything I should be doing in this record heat and dry weather. #3 swarms and 3 cutouts all done this past spring. I have been feeding. I stopped feeding on the hives that were thriving, and am currently feeding the new cut out and a couple that were small and had plenty of room to grow.

105 degree days with no rain in last 3 weeks and none in site.

I am using all screened botton boards and am not seeing any earding. Maybe a little at night but not much.

I know about the heat, got 105 here today and as hot and bad it seem to us we just have to do what we think will make it more comforable for the bees. I think it is best to just let them take care of the heat for they have been doing it for as long as they have been around. Now that I have been retired for 4 years I am wondering how I ever worked out in the hot and cold like I did, sure cannot do it now.

I propped the top cover up a little more on each hive.

Already 79.5 degrees here at 8:20, suppose to get 106 and proably will or higher, the bees are already bearding on the front of the hives, I feel for them in this heat.
