I left on some fondant above the inner cover coming out of winter. I use this hive to take frames of comb out for nucs, etc., so there was no real reason to take off the fondant.

The bees started building the comb in the empty box space and attached it directly to the remaining fondant. I thought this was neat.

Have you turned it over, or are they building from the floor up, as it looks in the pic?
