After i have finished my hive, since it was a spare of the moment thing and didn't order bees, how do i attract bees to it? Granted i have fruit trees a garden and water nearby.

You probally won't attract any to it without any drawn comb. Or a used hive scent. But if you want to try a swarm lure you can use lemon grass oil in a small vial. If you know someone willing to give you a used frame of comb it will increase your odds.

Also try putting your name out there with your fire hall, police, pest control, etc. on a swarm call list. They may not come to your hive on their own that way, but they're still free!

The odds of attracting a swarm into your hive is not very great. Perrybee's idea is good.
