I have traditionally preferred simple foods. One of my favorite breakfast foods is a simple plain bagel, toasted, with hummus on it. MMM! Here's my basic hummus recipe: Into a food processor put: 1 can of chick peas (reserve the liquid-save for later in the recipe) 2 Tbsp of tahini 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 teaspoon z'chug spice(or substitute cayenne or similar pepper) 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil Pulse the food processor to chop it all up. Run the food processor on low speed and add some of the reserved chick pea liquid...just enough to get the consistency that you want. Discard the rest of that liquid. That's it! You can adjust the quantities to suit your taste. This is very easy, tasty, and much less expensive than store-bought!
