Beautiful buckfast queen doing very well

    Simply amazing to see her picking around for empty cells to lay eggs even though I was holding the frame--she simply didn't seem to care

    imho.... within the parameters of a beekeeper's inspection, how a hive (workers and queen) acts is a good selection criterion for a hive who's genetic material you might wish to maintain within your apiary.

    How is the disposition of the buckfast that you have?

    I have heard they can be a little on the pissy side.
