It did not say, but technology put the plane to rest. Cost was a factor, but for everything the SR-71 could do, satellites could do better. I was never up in one but was allowed on one in the 80's. A truly amazing creation.

Thanks for the share. I spent 3 years on the USS Enterprise and saw my fair share of aircraft, but never had the privilege of see any like that...
