BoilerJim and I had our bee meeting at Purdue today. Dr. Greg Hunt and Krispn Givens were there to talk about mite control, swarms, inspections and introducing queen cells to nucs. Dr. Greg Hunt is one of the leading research entomologist on varroa mites. He says that the #1 killer of bees are the varroa mites- mostly the diseases they pass on. He and his team are working on bee grooming traits. Under a microscope he looks at dead mites belly up to see if they are chewed on. Krispn givens works with queen rearing, grafting, producing quality queens and much more. I have a couple videos of Krispn painting a queen and how to install a queen cell into a nuc. It was a awesome day!

I'll post videos when I can figure it out again
