Went to get a bee tree this morning, but could not quite reach it. The owner is going to remove the tree since it is so close to her house. The tree trimmers were going to let me use there bucket truck to cut off the tree top. The bucket truck only went to 65 feet and was about 15 feet shy of reahing the bees. They have a crane with a man basket coming wednesday morning, sooo this thread will be continued at a later date.

These must have bee some of the house bees since they were not flying, at least not from this hole. Their main entrance is just to the right and down a little.

To be continue

No cut out yet, too many other things going on at the moment. was wanting to wait til next spring but with so much of the hive exposed will have to do it pretty soon, I think the cold of winter would get them. Thought about building some attatchment to the side of it and setting a five frame nuc on it.
sometimes during the day you can see the larva in the brood comb.
