I live about 14 miles from that RR derailment in East Palestine that has been all over the news nationally. A few of the beekeepers from our club live just a few miles away from the scene. We just heard word that they lost over half of their bees so far because of it and they are worried about their beekeeping business.

I sure hope they can. When I seen them at the last meeting they did say they had an attorney. They took the $1000 that they offered everybody so I hope that doesn't hurt them in the future if they go after more. That was before their bees died though. They sell honey and bee equipment and also pick up packages and nucs somewhere to sell to other beekeepers. They have done a lot to get new beekeepers started. They have had the beekeeping business for many years.

they are going to need a lawyer....if they took the $1000.00, they also signed an agreement not to ask for more...NEVER NEVER sign anything or cash any check if your involved in some situation like that..contact a lawyer right away....that disaster is going to be around for a long time...and the way its playing out, the people will be screwed...
my tin foil hat is on for this one, did you read the plane with 5 execs from a company that surveys chemical spills like this, crashed just after tacking off from the clinton airport headed to ohio?..
and now the people of east palistine are getting a medical id bracelet just days before the train crash..hmmm

Wow.That is some crazy stuff.I sent that article to my mentor who sees Steve, the person who lives in East Palestine that has the beekeeping operation there. This adds to the already crazy stuff going on in our country.

We have a meeting coming up in the middle of the month so maybe I can find out more from the people who live there.

That's what I was thinking. Even the local news only covers so much.

Well,I went to the meeting and our friends who have their beekeeping business there just 2 miles from East Palestine lost half their colonies which amounted to 29 with all new boxes. They were also told to burn all the boxes that the bees were in. They are trying to get the local government to pass the word that the honey they still have up for sale is last year's honey, before the derailment. Another friend lost a bunch of his colonies too but he didn't say how many as he was pretty busy at the meeting being president and all.He lives 5 miles away from the mishap.

Sue is bad. There is a lot going on that we don't know about either. Lot of feet dragging going on too.

My thoughts are that this train traveled for many miles without mishap, so why did it derail where there were a town full of people. We thought about that.

I don't know. I lost a wheel bearing on my 75 chevy by surprise last winter, late December 2021, no idea why it did that at 5 pm going into a weekend and I could barely get a tow truck, but it did. This was a wheel bearing. Poor maintenance causes bad stuff and the railroad company had cut maintenance too far, and the regulations obama put in were removed during Trump that would have increased inspections, etc. is what it is. Not a conspiracy in my honest opinion, greed and stupidity instead.

safety on the railroads has been dismal for decades....simple devices like speed controllers would have saved many trains in the past but are not mandatory...and this was long before any particular president...envelopes of cash in politicians pockets to vote one way or the other is the cause, along with the crumbling infrastructure of this country...
