Very nice photos, I constantly tell folks to quit spraying the dandelions as it is one of the earlier food sources in abundance here. Thank you for sharing this. Tom

Dandelions are an important food source for these little critters/ahem Ladies:) I actually posted them on FB with the quotes...#1 reason not to spray weed killer, #2....#3...#4....(of course I could go on forever..#10,000...not to spray...)

Believe it or not, once while I was in NYC, I was served a salad with Dandelions in it. Yuck. I can't believe that people eat weeds. (but they actually do).

I can believe it...and I have..there are lots of edible flowers..and I actually don't think they taste that bad:) Dandelions have lots of great benefits....greens, flowers and roots are good for you. Lots of info out there if you google it.

Sorrell, dandelions, pig-weed, nursturum and amaranth greens: all are edible and are quite good for you.

    I love wild green salads...

Slowmodem, a weed is any plant that grows where it isn't wanted. Any veggie you eat could be a weed if it grew in the wrong place.

Why hasn't any of the southerners mentioned creasies, AKA: Creasy greens. We picked them by the bushel every Feb. when I was growing up.
