I've been working some long days, but i need to get the rest of the honey out of the hive. So after putting the kids to bed I rushed out to the hive, lit up the smoker and went to work on re-arranging the frames so that I could put the capped ones above an escape board. I was about half way done when it started to get quite dark in my bee shed. So I started rushing and the end result was inevitable. I rattled a few frames and crushed a few bees and I got what I deserved. 6 stings on my hands and arms. In the end I just had to put the last box on, close it and run away. I guess I should consider myself lucky that they didn't go for my face. Lessons learned: don't rush hive manipulations, and don't do a major one with just a tee shirt on.
