Bees pollinating orchids

    Science Friday, on NPR, aired an interesting story on how the male Catasetum orchid uses a projectile to hit bees with pollen. I very good corresponding video with an explanation is on NPR's website.

    It's a very fascinating demonstration of the evolution of plants and insects. The chance that the bee will visit a female Catasetum is still left to fate, but the bee obtains a desired scent used to attract a mate.

    That is just too cool, what mother nature has come up with is just too amazing.

    Title should be "orchids pollinating bees" :lol:
