Yesterday my son Joe and I decided to split some hives, the bees were pretty upset from the intrusion. When finished with the job we were cleaning things up and a mouse took off from an empty super, took a swing at it and missed. A minute or so later Joe saw the mouse scurrying across the bee yard and got the mouse with his foot, instantly bees were on it stinging away, must have been a dozen or so in seconds. Anyone else seen this happen before.

I have found dead mice in bottom boxes in early spring, but never witnessed their demise.

Same as Iddee, found dead mice in hives that were covered completely over with propolis.
