I was lucky today and found some free 1"x10" pine lumber on Craigslist in the "Free" category, enough to build 20 med. supers. The only problem I have is about a third of the pieces I cut have open knot holes in them, ranging from a 1/4" to 3/4".
I hate to toss them because that's the only thing wrong with them.
Sooooo my question is what's the best way to plug them? :dontknow:
Hey just noticed this is post # 400 for me ancing: :yahoo:
Whittle, cut, or sand a dowel to fit the hole snugly. Plaster the hole and dowel with glue and drive it in. Cut and sand it flush the next day. I have done this with cypress and cypress dowels. I hate to waste good wood.
