Couldn't figure out the video, but clearly got the idea of what happened by the two pics.
Sorry Gary, but you have to admit it is pretty funny, the choices bees make.
Thanks for the pick-me-up this morning.

The link is to a HTML page. Do you have open sharing turned tor that folder?
A large stack of suppers, it to much spade for the bees they seem to be intimidating to enter that large of an area. only I have to admire the irony of the situation. Did you try sweeping the bees in to an super in the chance the queen was still in the swarm cluster and hadn't entered the column? and the bee would eather join the mew hive or return to the original hive.

Absolutely not! I have friends that want to learn how to remove feral colonies. The queen is in the column.
If you watch a swarm as they progress you will notice they expose their Nasanov Glands once the queen is in the new space. They will rapidly fill the space once she is inside. If you watch the video closely it is quite obvious.

The original swarm swarmed on Friday. My wife got to enjoy it. It was almost over when I got home. They did go straight to one of my empty hives. They also cast two smaller swarms that went to one of our tallest pine trees. A few shots with the 12 gauge dropped both into waiting hives.
