wow! thanks for taking the time to post this, i have been trying to find out what this tree is for years,no one seemed to know,i got it from a man whose house i was painting years ago,he called it a" monkey tree", his yard had many and they were all very tall,i planted mine and it has taken off,we are in pure red clay here,they must like it. thanks for the link,now i know what ive got,d.s.

No problem....I own a tree service, and have had experience with those trees...VERY SPIKEY! Monkey tree is a common name Ive heard to.

they are spikey,everywhere one of those sticky points pricks you it itches like crazy
