If I pull full capped frames of honey but can't get to extract them for a couple days , will it be ok to store them in a cooler with lid ( just to keep unwanted bugs out ) in a cool basement ?

That's about as long as is safe. The frames are best left open in a ventilated space, maybe with a fan blowing if you have any uncapped areas.

The danger is that without the bees to patrol the combs you will have small hive beetle and wax moth larvae hatching out within a few days and doing damage. In a strong hive with plenty of workers, they would be fine but bad things happen outside.
