Carniolans/Italians???? Help me identify

    im gona take a guess and say the lighter colored bees are italian, from looking at other pictures of italian bees...or wait to see what hive domino's pizza delivers to..LOL

    Yes, I believe the darker bees are Carniolans but a hive can have both because the queen may mate with Italian, Carniolan and Russian drones alike. I think the lighter bees are the Italians or contain more genetic material from the Italians. They are both Apis Melifera.

    my hive swarmed early this year and through a mix of putting in queens( I figured this would be a good time to play with splitting the hive) and having the bees requeen on their own in the end, I have a mix of dark and light colored bees..
