Hived a package 12 days ago, took a quick look inside today and found capped brood and larvae. The queen must have started laying right off. Hope they continue to do well. I'm getting a nuc may 13th to put in my other hive. Back in business after the die offs last fall/winter!

My two packages of bees I got last month are doing great, the temp here have been petty good here for the past week, had lots of rain though with more coming. They have been real active with lots of bees coming and going. I am please with them also because they are working the flowers and blackberry here in the yard and next door, something the hive I have never done.

The blackberries here are trying to show a little white. If it's warm again tomorrow, I'm sure they'll burst out blooming. Of course, it's going to be cold Monday morning (40s maybe 30s). Blackberry winter.
