Is Citronella oil a bee attractant or dispersant ??

I know it keeps cats and Mosquitoes away , but bees ??

Our community pool manager has been sold some snake oil to keep bees and flys away from trashcans, its main ingredient is Citronella oil.

As bees are attracted to Lemon scents I wondered ??

Citronella is a natural insect repellant. I've never tested it on honey bees specifically but I think I will, now that you've mentioned it. We have used it to make a homemade bug spray and it works well for everything except ticks.
