Question? - Its August 9th and is it too late to get honey? I think the bees in all 4 of my hives have at least 10 frames each full of honey. Would it be ok to get some of the other frames for myself as long as they have the 10 medium frames (full) plus whatever they make from now til winter??? I plan on feeding them some too.
Was intending on looking in them in the morning to see whats going on. They have been doing really good.

In the piedmont of NC you can take all but 50 lb. A medium super contains approx. 30 lb. A deep frame fully capped has about 6 lb. So 1 super and 3 deep frames will last them through the winter.
I would imagine your hives have more than 3 frames of honey in the deeps if the super is full, otherwise they would be moving it down.

PS. Have you been feeding all summer? If so, how much is sugar and how much is honey?
