I got a call this am, while at work from hubby or message; his uncle nextdoor called and said he had a swarm of bees in a large tree. I got all excited and waited for further info. turns out the bees were going in and out of a large tree! the top was open and they have a colony inside! isn't that great! uncle is all excited cause he has his own bees now and doesn't need mine.

Sounds good, are you going to cut them out?

Might set up a swarm trap and catch a swarm off of them first.

Could end up with two hives.

I just saw pictures and the swarm is in a crook way down at the bottom; imposibble to get to without cutting down a very large tree. it's a shame.

But on the other hand you have a hollow tree that is also very dangerous to people and buildings, and will break at some point in time.

    Sounds like an excellent candidate
    For a Hogan swarm trap.
