Hope all you folks in the New England area are surviving. The snow is headed this way, but hasn't hit yet. I'm afraid my apple tree, now in full bloom, is a goner. I mulched the strawberries and asparagus, threw some dry sugar in the bee hive, and am hoping for the best.

I was feeling sorry for myself until I checked out the nest cams that Cornell university has on a red-tailed hawk nest and a great blue heron nest. The hawk has 3 or 4 eggs, and the heron has 5. The cameras show the poor things hunkered in their nests, under about 6" of snow. They look miserable, and I feel helpless.
