After our 11 inches of snow it has warmed up a lot. Daytime highs 50's to upper 60's. I was out in the garden and I have some Mustard Greens that I let go to flowering. The bees were all over these little yellow flowers trying to get what they could. So I set up a feeder with really strong sugar syrup then I put dry pollen substitute powder all around the base of the feeder. I wanted to see what the bees would go after. Syrup of Pollen. They tore the pollen powder up. They were practically rolling around in the stuff. They were packing as much in their pollen sacks as they could fly with. I sat out there and watched them for hours. Nice warm sun shine and they were landing all over me while they groomed and then off to the hives they went. I had to put the pollen out 3 times. Then once they finished off the 3rd round of powder they emptied the syrup. It was cool to watch them in that powder. It's supposed to be in upper 60's until Monday.
