I've been at it now for about 10 years. got started by going up to take aerial pictures of my farm. Got hooked, the rest is history.

I'm more impressed with some of the other hobbies I'm seeing. Especially Omie. Banjo playing has been on my bucket list for years. One of these days I'll buy one and have at it. In the meantime I'll just set back and have a listen.

So many hobbies, so little time :)

I used to quilt, and sculpt in clay (I am a horrible potter). I keep fish year round, garden almost year round, and quilt in the winter.

Both of my Grandmothers use to make quilts, I loved to sit and sew on them for hours and listen to the gossip :eek::lol:

My mother still makes quilts. She won third place at the county fair last fall because she entered, at her friend's insistance, a scrap she had made. She won a whole dollar! :D

Quilting has to be done for love, because it doesn't pay much money. I'll start a thread some time and post some quilts and home-made blankets. I can't hand-quilt anymore, carpal tunnel took that away, so I design "blankets" that don't have to be hand-quilted, and I don't use batting, so I can flip the quilt, tie part of it off, roll it up and do vertical or horizontal quilting with my sewing machine. (which is an older machine I refurbished, not an expensive quilter.) I buy machines at garage sales and repair them, then pass on to daughters.

Gardening - Zen, water, veggie, rock, woodland, herb and flower gardens...for foraging. Both of us make art of anything, home projects, yard projects, raising 2 pet chickens and a beautiful rooster (organic eggs and hive beetle maintenance), Expecting a litter of Siberian Huskies in mid January, church choir, crochet like crazy, Steve does woodworking and our Etsy store, .... and I have a bad addition to knowledge...have to be studying something everyday!

Would make a pretty fair pond filter if I could figure out how to get media into it. Actually looks like a catalytic convertor for - well - something really really BIG.

    Gypsi & Papakeith,

It is a fuel tank for a 1940's Taylorcraft airplane.

Tank installed before wing is covered.
