if drones pick an area to fly around in all the time...how do you go about finding it.
called 'drone congregation areas'... little seems to be known about how these areas are chosen. it does seem drone congregation areas used in one year are also used in the next.
I also wonder if the workers know where this area is (I vote yes) and some how waggle dance that info to the virgin queen, or if the drones put out a pheromone to attract the queen their way, if so are they up wind of the hive?
I've read about "drone congregation areas", guys just hanging out and all, waiting for the gals. The question is how does the queen know where to go, or is it like a human construction zone, where the guys line up and whistle!
