I used the last few drops of honey this morning on my Irish steel cut oatmeal. So, I went to the store, my yard, to get some. My hives that have supers on them are at the 50% mark on being fully capped. Hives number one provided me two good frames of capped honey. I was able to extract 7-1/2 pounds out of the frames. I am keeping a couple bottles and giving the remaining bottles to the folks that called me about swarms this year. Nice, mild, light and tasty sweet!! Most of it was from the first flow of dandelions and fruit trees. It was worth cleaning the extractor for just a small amount because it was so yum yum good. The refractrometer showed the honey to be 17.5%.

    Dave that's beautiful,nothing like your own honey:thumbsup:
I'll have to wait before I can extract any honey this year. Made all nucs from surviving hives.

I am hoping to get 3 mediums of honey off my hive this next weekend. We got 61 lbs the weekend before last. Now we have to figure out how to get it sold.
