It's been so hectic here, I have not harvested any honey. Put the bee escapes on yesterday. My "small" hive was packed full, with two nearly shalllows of capped honey. My "strong" hive had maybe 10 frames of honey spread between two shallows and several empty frames. I'm attributing the performance of the latter to the fact that they swarmed. Twice. But that hive has two deeps packed with brood, so I'm satisfied. At this late date, the trick will be to leave them enough. All the flowers are early this year, so August may be a long dearth. I plan on taking only about half the honey from each. Let me know if that sounds greedy.
