Just wanted to thank everyone for the great information I find on this site! I just did my first harvest, 1 med 10 frame box, 2 gallons! I don't have an extractor, so sacrificed the comb this year and did crush and strain with my canning food mill and jelly bags. Another learning experience, and a fun one! This is my second year as a beekeeper, lost both hives this spring, and started up again with a package from Apis Apiary in Grand Junction, and later on, a swarm. The package is going great guns--filled out their 3 med brood boxes, and two honey supers (I harvested one of those, will leave the other for winter feed). I don't have internet at our house here in Sharon Springs, so am unable to post my pictures right now, but will give you guys a few pics of our harvest when we return to CO this weekend. It's a family thing, my sons live here in KS, and keep an eye on my girls when I can't be here. Oldest son did his first cut out at the school about 3 wks ago, from the school's gym wall. That's a HOT little hive, hope they settle down soon! Again, folks, I've learned so much from you, and really appreciate it. Hope I can return the favor sometime! :Dancing:

Congratulations, I can still remember the excitement of my first one. It was on a Labor Day weekend.
