Just a wee bit slanted but have seen far worse. No mention at all about varroa and its vectored viruses. The last few paragraphs get down to the need to return to ecological responsibility in producing our food. No mention is made to the fact that we have allowed, or worse, contrived to have our population grow to 9 billion mouths to feed. Any wonder that there is habitat destruction and quick fix crop yield enhancement methods?
Man is far into overshoot of any sustainable carrying capacity of his ecosystem. Grasping at techno fixes for the resulting and ongoing damage is merely a symptom of general desperation for our situation. Why is there such deliberate refusal to meaningfully address the primary driving force behind the symptoms? Is that a fatal flaw that the man does not have the emotional equipment to regulate his own numbers any more effectively than the lemmings or yeast cells. Are we programmed to multiply till resource depletion forcefully balances the books?
I get impatient with emotional handwringing over symptoms, while continuing to engage in denial of deep structural flaws in the driving mechanism. We certainly were given some amazing capabilities that do not appear to compensate for an equally amazing inability to self regulate or accurately assess the ramifications of our most basic actions. What a piece of work!

From the subject, I thought you were talking about the old Buffalo Springfield song.
"There's something happening here.
What it is ain't exactly clear."
Sheesh Wayne, you're sure showing your age.
We're all turning into old geezers and geezerettes! ldtimer:
"Every time when I look in the mirror, All these lines on my face getting clearer..."
