Hi All.

I've been lurking in the shadows hoping to find a "kinder, gentler" beekeeping forum, and decided to "go public" here. :hi:

I'm a first year keeper from central Texas (100 miles SW of LtlWilli and 60 miles NW of Tecumseh). Rain started again in September and brought to mind the story of the farmer saying, "We get 35 inches of rain a year here...and I remember the night we got it!". Our average is 37", and we've gotten 15.5" in September and October.

But, asters and goldenrod are in bloom and the bees are enjoying the fall flowers. :D

Looking forward to participating in this forum.

welcome to the forum, glad you decided to hang around.

Mine are still finding some pollen to bring in also, even though we have had a couple of very light frost the last week.

howdy Walt and welcome aboard...

kinder and gentler huh? and here I thought ALL beekeepers were suppose to be prickly?

I am kinda' the odd man out here, but I do think this forum's direction is a bit more straightforward and hopefully projects a bit more direct and functional approach to beekeeping (vs I guess wishful thinking + smoke and mirrows).
