I just bought 200' of pine and was waiting for decent weather to set up my saw outside when I got a call from a friend back in Lunenburg (where we moved from last summer). He invited me for a visit (did I mention he is a german cabinet builder) so I brought my pine with me. We had a great time chewing the fat, caught up on a few months of gossip and milled the pine into 30 deeps. What a shop Hans has. His table saw and vac system came over from Germany and is like nothing I've seen before. If it had handlebars I'd say it looks more like a motorcycle! Nice to have the gear alright. Picked up some nifty tricks to speed things up when I do the next batch (unless I get the urge to go for another visit). ;)

His saw. Actually using a shaper blade to make the dado/rabbet cuts.

Old guy trying his hand (not to cut it off)

    Started loading the truck

Finshed, stacked in my basement, ready for assembly. May do handholds first, not sure yet.

Looking at those cut pieces stacked in your truck brought the smell of fresh cut pine into my nose.
Looks great! Smells great! I'm sure they'll work great!!!

    Good eyes Charlie. Busted!
When I bought the cap they threw in a 300lb bottling tank!
I like Maxant stuff, my first extractor (2 frame hand crank) is a gem, and my 20 frame Dadant is good too. I bought it used, so no hat! :(

That table saw looks almost as good as my $139 after Christmas special 2002 Sears table saw ;) I bet his doesn't sound like it's going to fly apart when you start it up
Nice score on the hat too !!

Yes, they are, they make us look better in our own eyes.
Kinda, we must be doing something right to deserve them.

Perry - sounds like a great day all the way around! :D

Your description reminded me of this video from a couple of years ago. This guy is really great with a hammer:

I love my Maxant 3100p. but it didn't come with a hat so I started a thread on another forum about it and Jake from Maxant sent me a free hat so I'd shut up about it. :yahoo:
