    Greetins to everybody,

I'm new to beekeeping. Plan to build my hives this winter. I have been looking at different plans, sizes and types. So I'm gathering information on "everything about bees". Looking for on line classes and information.

    Thank you

    Everyone

    Welcome.

I suggest you start with 2 Langstroth 10 frame deep hives.Build 4 deeps and 4 medium boxes, and buy frames for them. It is cheaper and much easier to buy the frames and build the rest.

Call them your foundation for your beekeeping hobby. After the first winter, branch out into whatever hives and methods you want to experiment with.

The first 2 Langs will make info gathering and finding help much easier, and there will always be a market for them if you decide to go another route.

Welcome from the other end or the Okanagan valley (spelled the right way) but we share the same weather, water. Heck were almost neighbors except for those guys with guns on both sides of that invisible line. Where are you planing to keep your bees? orchards, farm hay fields, in town gardens flower beds? Listen to Iddee he's been stung enough to know both ends of the bees. As Iddee never quite said, start with at least 2 hives so you have a comparison and one hive can support the other.

    Welcome to the forum.

Your handle is bugging me. I am sure I have seen a Captain Kaos in a Superman type costume but I can't bring the details to mind.

Better late than never, I guess!

Welcome and enjoy your stay! :)

Brushy Mountain has some good videos and materials. I learned a lot from them (and bought a lot of stuff from them, too.)

This is a great place for good, helpful info and great, helpful folks! :D
